News Broadway Will Dim Lights Jan. 31 to Honor Playwright Wendy Wasserstein In honor of the passing of the American playwright Wendy Wasserstein, Broadway theatres will dim its lights Jan. 31.

As is tradition, the lights of all Broadway marquees will dim for one minute at 8 PM. Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Wasserstein passed away Jan. 30. Wasserstein earned the Pulitzer for The Heidi Chronicles — which also won her a Tony Award and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. Other of the scribe's plays include Isn’t It Romantic, The Sisters Rosensweig, Uncommon Women and Others, An American Daughter, Old Money and the recent Third.
