Broadway Green Alliance will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a special "bike-powered" concert October 23 at 5 PM in the New Amsterdam Room at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Limited, free tickets will be available for the in-person event, which will also stream live via Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley's Stars in the House series.
The special concert will include appearances from Rudetsky and Wesley, along with Tony nominees Kerry Butler, Anika Larsen, Kenita R. Miller, and Adam Pascal; Mara Davi; Jenn Gambatese; Jackie Hoffman; Patti Murin; Rachel Webb; and James T. Lane, with more to be announced.
Launched in 2008 as a committee of The Broadway League and a fiscal program of Broadway Cares, BGA works to make Broadway greener and more sustainable. Their Times Square recycling collection drives have diverted more than 19,000 pounds of textiles and 52,000 pounds of electronic waste from landfills. Other initiatives have including getting Broadway theatres to use energy-efficient LED and CFL bulbs in their marquees, which has saved more than 9,800 tons of carbon to date.

"The strategic efforts of the BGA have resulted in creating initiatives, events, and outreach programs that have and will continue to inspire and keep Broadway greener for years to come."

Molly Braverman, Larsen, and Austin Sora are serving as creative directors for the upcoming concert, with David Katz as technical director, Jenna Snyder as bike designer, and Lauren Mandras as graphic and video designer. The event is sponsored by Harmony Helper, Royal Waste, Scriptation, and Sweet Hospitality.
The upcoming concert is free, but BGA is accepting donations to support its work at BroadwayGreen.com.
