Broadway News Brittain Ashford Sets Return Date to Broadway’s The Great Comet The actor will once again step into the role she created, Natasha’s cousin and closest friend Sonya.

Brittain Ashford, who created the role of Sonya in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, will return to that part August 15 at Broadway's Imperial Theatre.

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson, who has been playing the role since July 3, will offer her final performance August 13. (Michaelson had originally been announced to play through August 15 with Ashford returning August 16.)

The company of the award-winning musical is currently headed by Tony nominee Denée Benton as Natasha and Okieriete “Oak” Onaodowan as Pierre. (Onaodowan is scheduled to conclude his run August 13.)
