News Are You the Next Sondheim? Sound Bites Musical Theatre Festival Now Accepting Submissions Theatre Now New York has announced that it is now accepting submissions for the 2015-16 Sound Bites 10-minute musical theatre festival. The festival offers composers, lyricists and librettists the opportunity to showcase their work in front of theatre-goers and industry professionals.

The selected scripts will be presented live onstage in New York as well as compete for festival awards and for the chance to receive further development. Submissions can be made by visiting tnny.org/soundbites. The organization is also seeking writers, dramaturgs, composers, lyricists, actors, directors, producers, and theatre professionals to serve on the 2015-2016 Selection Committee. Applications are being accepted via tnny.org/soundbites.

Theatre Now New York artistic director, Thomas Morrissey, has helped develop and produce new plays and musicals including Kingdom, the world premiere of The Last Sunday in June, and the East Coast Premiere of The Break-up Notebook. Stephen Bishop Seely, literary manager of Theatre Now New York and Producer of the festival, has helped develop several Off-Broadway and Broadway shows including Disney’s Tarzan.
