The Keen Company celebrates the official opening of its 25th anniversary production of A.R. Gurney’s play Later Life. Gurney’s romantic tale of missed connections and hope for new beginnings began performances February 27 at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row Off-Broadway where it is scheduled to play through April 14.
Leading the cast of the Off-Broadway revival are Barbara Garrick (A Thousand Clowns on Broadway) and Laurence Lau (national tour of August: Osage County). The pair play a middle-aged couple who meet at a party and rekindle a romance that began nearly 30 years prior.
Completing the cast are Liam Craig (Boeing Boeing) and Obie winner Jodie Markell (Machinal). Keen Company Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein directs.
Gurney, whose plays include Sylvia, Scenes From American Life, Love Letters, The Middle Ages, and The Dining Room, died June 13, 2017, at age 86.
The design team for Later Life is made up of Steven Kemp (scenic), Jennifer Paar (costumes), David Lander (lighting), and Obadiah Eaves (sound).
