Tony nominee Andrew Rannells has officially added author to his résumé. His memoir Too Much Is Not Enough hits shelves March 12.

Rannells, who earned a Tony nomination for The Book of Mormon, told Good Morning America about the book and his journey to a now-successful acting career.
“It’s really about my first seven years that I lived in New York before I got my first Broadway show, which was Hairspray in 2004,” he said. “That’s often the period of time that kind of gets skipped over, before you get your first big break, but pursuing any kind of dream starts with the first day you say you want to do it and then there’s a lot of time until it happens.”
The actor reveals the reality of his story and Broadway credits. “Even after I was on Broadway, I did Hairspray for a year-and-a-half and that money didn't go as far as I'd imagined so I had to get a temp job at Ernst & Young,” he said.
“All I said was, ‘I want to be on Broadway,’ so I got on Broadway and then very quickly I was like, 'I think I want a bigger part,’” he said. “You keep trading dreams.”
Rannells most recently appeared on Broadway in The Boys in the Band alongside Jim Parson, Zachary Quinto, and Matt Bomer. Prior to that he originated the role of Whizzer in the Broadway revival of Falsettos and played King George in Hamilton. His other Broadway credits include Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Jersey Boys. Rannells currently stars on Showtime’s Black Monday.
