The television special debuted on CBS in November 1985 and was notable not only for the songs but also because it was the first time Snoopy spoke — at least in song.
In addition to the made-for-TV special, the single 50-minute disc will also include a featurette entitled "Animating A Charlie Brown Musical," which "explores the 20-year journey of the 1967 Clark Gesner album that became a Broadway hit and finally an animated TV special."
