Kent Nicholson (Five Flights) directs Pearl Sun (If/Then) and Bryce Ryness (Hair), portraying the funny and frazzled 50-year romance between Asian-American Hope and Jewish Charles, from first date to old age. The limited engagement will play through March 29 at 59E59 Theaters. Opening night is scheduled for March 10.
According to press notes, the 95-minute show illuminates "the challenges and joys of a life time of love. Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda (Striking 12) turn Schulner's play into a touching, melodic pop-rock musical."
Featuring music direction by Vadim Feichtner, the design team includes David L. Arsenault (scenic design); Kirche Leigh Zeile (costume design); Grant W. S. Yeager (lighting design); and Kevin Heard (sound design). The production stage manager is Emily Paige Ballou.
