The cast and crew of the musical -- the latest in Kander & Ebb's legendary string that includes Cabaret, Chicago and Kiss of the Spider Woman -- is grabbing lunch where they can. A run-through has been called for 3 PM, which means a stressful day is also going to be a busy day.
In the office of General Manager Marvin A. Krauss, Kiersten Mikelas is looking over her handiwork: 102 canvas tote bags filled with goodies -- the producer's present to the Steel Pier team.
The bags contain baseball hats, t-shirts, the window card -- even a toy balsa glider -- all emblazoned with the show's art deco logo.
One special gift: a snow globe with a model of the show's airplane inside.
In a little while, Mikelas will bring them to the theatre, and the opening night festivities will get underway.
