SpongeBob SquarePants—The Broadway Musical, the new musical based on the hit Nickelodeon cartoon series, will begin Broadway previews November 6 at the Palace Theatre, with an official opening night set for December 4.
Several members from the spring 2016 world-premiere engagement in Chicago will transfer with the production, including newcomer Ethan Slater, who will make his Broadway debut in the title role. He will be joined by Lilli Cooper as SpongeBob’s close friend Sandy Cheeks, as well as both Danny Skinner in his Broadway debut as SpongeBob's dimwitted starfish pal and Patrick Brian Ray Norris in his Broadway debut as Krusty Krab owner Eugene Krabs.
A handful of lucky fans will be among the first to see and hear the SpongeBob SquarePants—The Broadway Musical during an exclusive pop-up preview event at Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel on October 16. Congratulations to Chris B., Melissa E., Meghan H., Meghan S., and Matt W., who won our giveaway!
The event will feature performances from Slater, Skinner, and Cooper, as well as a panel discussion with the performers, who will be joined by creator-director Tina Landau and bookwriter Kyle Jarrow.
