Phoebe Waller-Bridge celebrates the official opening of her hit monologue play Fleabag's American premiere March 7. But before audiences see her on the stage of Off-Broadway's Soho Playhouse, they'll first catch her mysterious gaze on the cover of the Playbill. How did she nail the look? Well, it's simple.
"That was a pretty good photo shoot," she told Stephen Colbert during her March 6 visit to The Late Show. "You know? You go on a photo shoot and you're a tiny bit hungover, and they go, 'Do a move!' And you go [holding her hands to her face in despair] 'Uhhh,' and they say, 'Love it! Let's have it as the poster!'"
The confession was one of many humorous anecdotes the Killing Eve creator shares in the video above; watch the full clip to hear about her late-blooming Star Wars fandom and the time she became unnecessarily terrible about apple crumble around Meryl Streep.
Fleabag, about an oversexed, emotionally unfiltered woman with nothing to lose, runs through April 14. The show, which was also adapted into a BBC series, debuted at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival before engagements in London, South Korea, and Australia.
Both Fleabag and BBC America's Killing Eve return for second seasons this spring (the former premiered March 4).
