The world premiere of Escape to Margaritaville, which began previews May 9 at La Jolla Playhouse, officially opened May 28.
Christopher Ashley and Kelly Devine direct and choreograph, respectively.
Following the La Jolla engagement, the show is scheduled to play New Orleans, Houston, and Chicago prior to beginning performances at Broadway's Marquis Theatre February 16, 2018.
Paul Alexander Nolan, who last appeared on Broadway in Bright Star, takes center stage in the musical, which features new songs and well-known hits by Jimmy Buffett. Nolan is joined by fellow Broadway alums Alison Luff as Rachel and Lisa Howard as Tammy.Here’s what critics had to say:

Featuring a book by Greg Garcia and Mike O'Malley, Escape to Margaritaville follows Tully (Nolan), a part-time bartender and singer at the titular island paradise, where a beautiful career-minded tourist in town makes him question his overly relaxed lifestyle.
The creative team also includes Tony-nominated choreographer Kelly Devine, scenic designer Walt Spangler, Tony-winning costume designer Paul Tazewell, two-time Tony-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley, two-time Tony-winning sound designer Brian Ronan, and Tony nominee Christopher Jahnke as music supervisor.
