Directed by Malcolm Ewen, the cast is led by Brummel as Tevye and Glushak as Golde. Also featured are Harry Katzman, Barbara Lloyd, Mike Maloney, Georga Osborne, Emma Rosenthal, Geoffrey Wade (An American Daughter) and Sharon Wheatley (Avenue Q). Performances continue through Aug. 25.
Based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof features music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and a book by Joseph Stein. The score includes classic songs such as "Tradition," "If I Were a Rich Man," "Sunrise, Sunset" and "Matchmaker, Matchmaker."
Choreographer Jacob Brent recreates Jerome Robbins' original choreography, and music director Rob Meffe has re-orchestrated the music to incorporate the authentic and haunting sounds of traditional Klezmer music, performed in Weston's new orchestra pit — open for the first time since it was ravaged by flooding from tropical storm Irene last summer.
The creative team also includes scenic designer Russell Parkman, lighting designer Stuart Duke, costume designer Karen Ledger, sound designer Ed Chapman and stage manager Melissa Spengler.
