Whoopi Goldberg was joined by Kathy Najimy, Beth Fowler, and other members of the original 1992 cast of Sister Act for a special 25th anniversary reunion episode on The View.

Highlights from the September 14 episode included Goldberg and her fellow cast members (all dressed as nuns) recreating some of Sister Act’s iconic gospel moments, including “I Will Follow Him.”

On hand for the reunion was Tony Award-winning Hairspray songwriter Marc Shaiman, who served as music supervisor on the film.

The segment also featured a special message from Maggie Smith, who played Mother Superior, as well as memories from Sister Act cast members who shared behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the film, and some of the antics they pulled while dressed as nuns.

Goldberg also produced the stage musical adaptation of Sister Act, which premiered in London in 1999. Goldberg later stepped into the production, taking over the role of Mother Superior. A revamped version of the show opened on Broadway in 2011.
