The official trailer for FX’s new series Feud: Bette and Joan was released February 14. The anthology series, by creator Ryan Murphy, stars Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford and Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis in a chronicle of the actors’ epic rivalry.
“For over half a century, they hated each other and we loved them for it,” says Tony winner Catherine Zeta-Jones as Olivia de Havilland.
In addition to Lange, Sarandon, and Zeta-Jones, the cast stars Judy Davis as Hedda Hopper, three-time Tony nominee Alfred Molina as Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as Jack Warner, Jackie Hoffman as Mamasita, and Sarah Paulson as Geradline Page.
Lange won a 2016 Tony Award for her work as Mary Tyrone in Roundabout Theatre Company’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night, an opportunity she credits to Murphy. “I happened to mention to him that Mary Tyrone ... remained the greatest part I ever had and my favorite role,” she said in the Tony Awards press room June 12, 2016. “The next thing I knew he had secured the rights, and we brought it to the Roundabout.”
Sarandon, a Drama Desk nominee, last appeared on Broadway in 2009’s Exit The King.
