Come From Away focuses on how the town of Gander in Newfoundland opened its arms to the passengers of 38 planes grounded on 9/11.

The Broadway community has always been characterized for being inclusive and supportive. Geno Carr, Astrid Van Wieren, Jenn Colella, Joel Hatch, Lee MacDougall, Chad Kimball, and Petrina Bromley talk to us about the importance of inclusivity and mentorship and specific instances where another artist showed kindness towards them and how that influenced their lives and careers—from taking turns paying for gas and a piece of advice to a pat on the back. Directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley, with musical staging by two-time Tony Award nominee Kelly Devine and music supervision by Ian Eisendrath, Come From Away began performances on Broadway February 18, 2017, and officially opened to critical acclaim March 12 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

The musical features a book, music, and lyrics by the Canadian husband-and-wife team of Irene Sankoff and David Hein (My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding).
