To celebrate the forthcoming Off-Broadway return of Rock of Ages, and the 10th anniversary of the show, alumni from the musical’s Broadway run performed “Don’t Stop Believin’” live on top of the marquee of The Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Watch the performance in the video above.
The 10th anniversary production will begin June 19 at Off-Broadway's New World Stages and run through September 29. Casting has not been announced.
This production will feature staging and production designs from the original Broadway show, which ran April 2009–January 2015, playing 2,350 performances and launching a successful national tour and subsequent film adaptation.
Rock of Ages, featuring the music of Journey, Starship, Twisted Sister, Foreigner, and Pat Benatar, had its world premiere in January 2006 at The Vanguard Hollywood nightclub in Los Angeles, where it played a six-week engagement before opening a limited run at The Flamingo in Las Vegas in May 2006.
With a book by Chris D'Arienzo, Rock of Ages features direction by Kristin Hanggi and choreography by Kelly Devine.
