Tony Award winner Jennifer Holliday, the original star of Dreamgirls, returned to Broadway October 4 in the role of the sexy cabaret singer Shug Avery in the Tony-winning revival of The Color Purple at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

The revival will end its run January 8, 2017. Directed by John Doyle and starring Cynthia Erivo, who won the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical, the revival opened December 10, 2015, and will have played 33 previews and 449 regular performances when it closes.
