The cast of the new Broadway musical Hadestown, which picked up 14 Tony Award nominations April 30 (the most of any production of the season) appeared on NBC’s Today May 1.
The company of the critically acclaimed musical performed Anaïs Mitchell's “Livin’ It Up on Top,” led by Tony nominees Amber Gray and André De Shields. Watch the high-energy performance below.
Mitchell's underworld-set folk opera, which premiered Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop in 2016, returned to New York following its London premiere at the National Theatre last fall. Tony nominee Rachel Chavkin directs.

The cast is led by Tony Award nominee Eva Noblezada (Miss Saigon) as Eurydice and Reeve Carney (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark) as Orpheus. The are joined by 2019 Tony nominees De Shields (The Full Monty) as Hermes, Patrick Page (Saint Joan) as Hades, and Gray (The Great Comet) as Persephone.
