Four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh, known for her roles in Golda’s Balcony, Irena’s Vow, Yentl, and Sarava!, will headline a one-night-only reading of Dancing With Giants, November 14 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Written and directed by her brother, David Feldshuh, a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Miss Evers’ Boys, the play is a fictionalized account based on true events surrounding the relationship between American boxing champ Joe Louis; German boxing champion (and Hitler's favorite boxer) Max Schmeling; and his American Jewish manager, Joe "Yussel the Muscle" Jacobs.

Feldshuh will take on the role of Joe "Yussel the Muscle" Jacobs, who famously saluted a crowd of 25,000 Nazi supporters—with cigar in hand—following Schmeling’s win during a 1935 match in Hamburg.

The cast will also feature Sam Bardwell as Max Schmeling, Ricky Morisseau as Joe Louis, James Cunningham as Joseph Goebbels, and Steven Hauck as the Narrator.

The 7 PM reading will take place at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia. Tickets range from $25 to $250. Tickets are available for purchase on-line at rodephshalom.org/dancingwithgiants.
