Duncan Northern has been named president of Tinc Productions, succeeding previous owners and founders Ryan Kirk and Melissa Johnston, who are leaving to pursue other interests. Northern has served as partner and production supervisor for Tinc since the company launched its theatrical production management division in 2014.
Tinc's current roster of Off-Broadway shows includes the New York Music Theater Festival, Mike Birbiglia’s The New One, Puffs, and the Chicago production of Heartbreak Hotel.
Northern has been with the company since 2012.
“Tinc has always been a place that has taken chances and built opportunities for its employees and clients. It is one of my proudest moments as a professional to take over as President of this company and to continue its long legacy,” he says in a statement.
Also joining Northern as Tinc’s new director of operations is Mary Kathryn Blazek, who most recently served as the director of production for the Manhattan School of Music, where she supervised over 1,000 events a year. She brings 15 years of experience in theatre and opera.
