News Tim Daly Stars in The Ruins of Civilization, Opening Tonight The Emmy-nominated actor stars in the premiere of Penelope Skinner's new drama.

Manhattan Theatre Club’s world premiere of Penelope Skinner's The Ruins of Civilization officially opens May 18 featuring Emmy nominee Tim Daly, whose Broadway credits include The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and Coastal Disturbances.

Directed by Obie Award winner Leah C. Gardiner, the show began previews May 4 at The Studio at Stage II – Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center – Stage II (131 West 55th Street).

The cast of the limited engagement also features Drama Desk Award nominee Orlagh Cassidy, Rachael Holmes and Roxanna Hope.

“Sometime in the future, Dolores (Holmes) and Silver (Daly) are living their married life within the constraints and norms of a new world order,“ according to press notes. “In an act of what seems like pure generosity, Dolores secretly opens their home to a stranger in need; but will she come to regret it? Can her actions have an impact or is it just too late?“

The creative team includes Neil Patel (scenic design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), Philip S. Rosenberg (lighting design), John Gromada (original music and sound design) and Charlotte Fleck (dialect coach).

MTC has priced tickets for the first five weeks of The Ruins of Civilization at $30. Single tickets are on sale via CityTix, (212) 581-1212, Nycitycenter.org and at the New York City Center box office.
