The national tour of Waitress, starring Desi Oakley, is set to begin performances October 17 in Cleveland, Ohio. Among those joining her in the road production are Broadway cast members Charity Angél Dawson as Becky, Larry Marshall as Old Joe, and Jeremy Morse as Ogie in addition to Lenne Klingaman as Dawn, Bryan Fenkart as Dr. Pommater, Nick Bailey as Earl, and Ryan G. Dunkin as Cal.
Directed by Diane Paulus and featuring a Tony and Grammy award nominated score by Sara Bareilles, Waitress tells the story of a small-town diner employee who channels her dreams of escaping her loveless and abusive marriage through baking creatively titled pies—and a tryst with her new OB/GYN. The musical features a book by Jessie Nelson.
