Playwrights Horizons world premiere of Lindsey Ferrentino's new play This Flat Earth, about a seaside town community thrust into the spotlight following a school shooting, officially opens April 9. The production is directed by Rebecca Taichman and scheduled to play through April 29.
In This Flat Earth, a 13-year-old girl attempts to make sense of having witnessed the unthinkable. Leading the cast is Ella Kennedy Davis (Matilda, Mary Poppins), who is making her Off-Broadway debut. She is joined by Ian Saint-Germain (Tamburlaine), Cassie Beck (The Whale, The Humans), Theatre World Award winner Lynda Gravatt (Miss Witherspoon, Skeleton Crew), and Lucas Papaelias (Essential Self-Defense, Once).

Performances began March 16. The production features scenic design by Tony Award winner Dane Laffrey, costume design by Tony Award winner Paloma Young, lighting design by two-time Tony Award and three-time Drama Desk Award winner Christopher Akerlind and sound design by Mikhail Fiksel. Production stage manager is Cole P. Bonenberger.
