Sunny Afternoon, a new musical which won the Best New Musical Award at the 2015 Olivier Awards, is to shutter at the West End's Harold Pinter Theatre October 29, after a run of over two years. It officially opened there after transferring from London's Hampstead Theatre.
The show, which tells the story of the early life of Ray Davies and the rise to stardom of The Kinks and features some of their best-loved songs, including “You Really Got Me,” “Waterloo Sunset” and “Lola,” will, as previously announced, launch a U.K. tour in August.
The cast is currently led by Danny Horn as Ray Davies, with Oliver Hoare as Dave Davies, Tom Whitelock as bassist Pete Quaife and Damien Walsh as drummer Mick Avory. At certain performances, the role of Ray Davies is played by Ryan O’Donnell.
