Director John Mauceri and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra performed excerpts from each of the winning musicals, selected by a jury of over 500 "composers, musicians, film artists (directors, screenwriters, actors, editors and cinematographers), critics and historians," according to a release. Audiences were treated to the showtunes played while scenes from the movies were shown on big video screens.
