As the 2016 presidential election campaign limps to its conclusion, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have scheduled election-night parties near Times Square, meaning that several key Manhattan streets in the area will be restricted on Monday and closed completely on Tuesday.
If you are headed by car to a show in the area either day, take note of this list, compiled by DNAInfo from the NYC Office of Emergency Management. Because of the street closures, traffic is expected to be congested on the streets surrounding the ones listed below.
Clinton’s headquarters is at the Javits Center on Eleventh Avenue at West 34th Street. Trump’s headquarters is at the Hilton Hotel on Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue) at West 53rd Street.
The following streets will have limited access all day November 7:
Eleventh Avenue between West 34th Street and West 40th Street
West 34th Street between the West Side Highway and Tenth Avenue.
The following streets surrounding both the Hilton and the Javits Center will be closed from 6 PM November 7 until 6 AM November 9:
West 34th Street between the West Side Highway and 11th Avenue
Eleventh Avenue between West 34th Street and West 40th Street
Sixth Avenue between West 53rd Street and West 54th Street
Seventh Avenue between West 53rd Street and West 54th Street
