The Classical Theatre of Harlem production of Antigone, inspired by Paul Roche’s adaptation from the classic Greek tragedy by Sophocles, officially opened July 8 at The Richard Rodgers Amphitheater at Marcus Garvey Park. Directed by Carl Cofield, the show features Ty Jones as Creon, Alexandria King as Antigone, Kahlil X. Daniel as Teiresias, Avon Haughton as Haemon, Ava McCoy as Ismene, and Adaku Okpi as Eurydice. The ensemble features dancers from Elisa Monte Dance.

Tickets to the outdoor production are free and are scheduled to run July 9–29.

The show features choreography by Tiffany Rea-Fisher, costume design by Lex Liang, lighting design by Alan C. Edwards, scenic design by Christopher and Justin Swader, sound design by Curtis Craig, production stage manager Megan Sprowls, projection design by Katherine Freer, and props by Samantha Shoffner.
