On February 3, Skittles opted to change the game in terms of how it utilized Super Bowl Sunday’s famous advertising opportunities. While most advertisers chose to purchase a $5 million commercial spot during the broadcast, Skittles used the money to produce a 30-minute musical at Manhattan’s Town Hall, starring Michael C. Hall.
Featuring music by Drew Gasparini (Smash) and Sarah Benson, lyrics by Nathaniel Lawlor, a book by Will Eno, and choreography by Raja Feather Kelly, performances of Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
