Fans eager to see Megan Hilty and Jessie Mueller's star turns as Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn were given a sneak peek as Lifetime dropped the trailer for Patsy & Loretta. The TV movie also got its premiere date: October 19.
The trailer shows the pair meeting for the first time, having family dinners, and even singing together. The two developed one of country music's most influential friendships, with Cline mentoring Lynn up until her untimely passing in a plane accident (foreshadowed in the trailer).
Joining Tony nominee Hilty (Noises Off) and Tony and Grammy winner Mueller (Beautiful) on screen as their husbands are Broadway vet Joe Tippet (Waitress) and Kyle Schmid (History Channel's Six, Netflix's The I-Land). Schmid plays Charlie Dick, Cline's second husband, while Tippet appears as Doolittle "Mooney" Lynn opposite Mueller.
Patsy & Loretta is directed by Oscar winner Callie Khouri (screenwriter of Thelma & Louise) and written by Angelina Burnett (FX's The Americans).
