Tony nominee Danielle Brooks and Tony winner John Gallagher Jr. will soon be seen on the big screen in Megan Griffiths' new film, Sadie. The film tells the story of a young girl who is determined to preserve her father's place on the home front while he is away fighting in the military.

Leading the cast as Saide is Sophia Mitri Schloss. She is joined by Melanie Lynskey, Tony Hale, and Keith L. Williams.

Brooks is a Tony Award nominee for her performance as Sofia in the 2015 revival of The Color Purple, which also marked her Broadway debut. On screen, she is well known for portraying Taystee in Netflix's Orange is the New Black, among other roles.

Since his Tony-winning performance as Moritz in the 2006 production of Spring Awakening, Gallagher Jr. has performed on Broadway in American Idiot, Jerusalem, and Long Day's Journey Into Night. His screen credits include the award-winning indie film Short Term 12 and TV's The Newsroom, in which he played Jim Harper.
