A new high school edition of the stage adaptation of Shakespeare in Love is now available from play and musical licensor Samuel French, a Concord Theatricals Company.

Centered around a fictionalized love story between William Shakespeare and a female actor who dresses as a man to join the cast of one of the Bard's all-male productions, the play is adapted from Tom Stoppard and Marc Norman's 1998 Academy Award-winning screenplay by Lee Hall (Network, Billy Elliot The Musical).

The high school edition includes changes that make the work more suitable for teenagers and includes a production handbook offering dramaturgical and historical resources, curricular lesson plan ideas, structured audience engagement opportunities, and tips on casting, design, and staging. Shakespeare in Love High School Edition is set to be performed in June in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the Educational Theatre Association's International Thespian Festival by J.J. Pearce High School of Richardson, Texas.

Hall's stage adaptation premiered in London's West End in 2014 in a production developed by Disney Theatrical Group and Sonia Friedman Productions. The work went on to become the most-produced play of the 2017–2018 season in America.
