Academy Award-winning director Rob Marshall will be joined by original West Side Story film actors—Oscar winner Rita Moreno (Anita), Oscar winner George Chakiris (Bernardo), Eliot Feld (Baby John), and Russ Tamlyn (Riff) for an October 11 discussion of the 1961 Oscar-winning film adaptation of West Side Story at the Paley Center in Los Angeles.
The 7 PM evening, Words on Dance: Jerome Robbins and West Side Story, will offer an in-depth look at the artist and his best-known work, West Side Story—conceived, directed, and choreographed by Robbins, with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents—which premiered on Broadway in 1957 and later on screen in 1961.
