Red Bull Theater’s revival of The White Devil opens March 31 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Louisa Proske’s new adaptation of the John Webster drama interprets the 17th century revenge tragedy as a contemporary dystopia.

Using live video to mirror Webster’s world of perversion, surveillance, and violence, The White Devil traces a love affair and the story of an extraordinary woman in a world of deceit, objectification, and fake news.

The Off-Broadway production, which began March 19, stars Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde), Daniel Oreskes (Oslo), Socorro Santiago (The Bacchae), Amara James Aja (Twelfth Night at The Old Globe), Jenny Bacon (Heartless), Lisa Birnbaum (F#%king Up Everything), Edward O’Blenis (Coriolanus), Cherie Corinne Rice (Romeo & Juliet at Shakespeare Festival St. Louis), Tommy Schrider (War Horse), Tony nominee Derek Smith (The Green Bird), and T. Ryder Smith (Oslo).

The White Devil is scheduled through April 14.

The production features set design by Kate Noll, costume design by Beth Goldenberg, lighting design by JiYoun Chang, sound design by Chad Raines, and video design by Yana Birÿkova.
