The sold out Chichester Festival Theatre poduction of King Lear, starring Ian McKellen in the title role, officially opened in a sold-out run September 30.

Jonathan Munby directs a cast including Jonathan Bailey (Edgar), Kirsty Bushell (Regan), Richard Clews (Old Man/Gentleman Informer), Sinéad Cusack (Kent), Phil Daniels (Fool), John Hastings (Curan/Doctor), Dervla Kirwan (Goneril), Tamara Lawrance (Cordelia), Dominic Mafham (Albany), Jake Mann (Burgundy), Michael Matus (Oswald), Damien Molony (Edmund), Caleb Roberts (King of France), Patrick Robinson (Cornwall) and Danny Webb (Gloucester).

King Lear began preview September 22 and continues through October 28.
