The New York premiere of Be More Chill celebrated its official opening in the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center August 9. The coming-of-age musical arrives Off-Broadway following a world premiere at New Jersey's Two River Theater in 2015 and after gradually amassing a large fan following online.

Based on Ned Vizzini’s novel, Be More Chill tells the story of an average teenager, played by Dear Evan Hansen's Will Roland, who takes a pill purported to make people more easygoing. The musical features a score by Joe Iconis, a book by Joe Tracz, direction by Stephen Brackett and choreography by Chase Brock.
