New York Theatre Workshop celebrated the official opening of Thaddeus Phillips' new solo work, 17 Border Crossings, April 15. In the monologue play, Phillips examines the imaginary lines that divide the world and the very real barriers they create.
The Off-Broadway production, directed by Tatiana Mallarino, began performances April 11 and is scheduled to run through May 12.

Beginning with a man at a desk on an empty stage, 17 Border Crossings takes the audience around the world—from invasive body searches at Charles de Gaulle and ayahuasca experiments in the Amazon, to KFC-smuggling in Palestine and run-ins with Ace of Base on Croatian ferries.
17 Border Crossings marks Phillips’ third collaboration with NYTW, following ¡El Conquistador! in 2006 and Red Eye to Havre de Grace in 2014.
