Playbill Pride returns June 1 for its fifth annual salute to the theatre’s vibrant community of LGBTQ artists, allies, innovators, and fans—this year with a fresh, updated look!
Throughout the month of June, we will profile visionary artists who have made an indelible mark on the American theatre through their dedication to their craft and to their community.
Five years ago, Playbill made history with its first-ever commemorative Pride print issue—the first time in our 130-year history that we changed our classic yellow and black logo to reflect a cause.
We are proud to say that all of Broadway is going rainbow again this year to commemorate Playbill Pride 2018. Playbill covers for every show on Broadway are bursting with the colors first designed in 1978 by the late Gilbert Baker, when he created the “Rainbow Flag,” now synonymous with the LGBTQ community and its message of activism, inclusion, hope, and diversity.
Snap a photo with your Pride Playbill and tell us your personal stories of love, acceptance, and pride. Share with us on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #PlaybillPride. And go to the Playbill Store to buy this year's Playbill Pride poster!
