Playbill’s new Pop-Up Series, presented by Renaissance Hotels, continues October 16 with a sneak preview of SpongeBob SquarePants, The Broadway Musical. The Pop-Up series launched September 27 with an exclusive preview of the Broadway revival of Once on This Island.

Joining Playbill for the performance and panel discussion are SpongeBob director Tina Landau, book writer Kyle Jarrow, and Ethan Slater—who stars in the title role—as well as cast members Lilli Cooper (Sandy Cheeks), Danny Skinner (Patrick), and Brian Ray Norris (Eugene Crabs).

The show’s score comprises original songs by a roster of pop and rock hit-makers, including Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, John Legend, Lady Antebellum, Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and a song by David Bowie. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton.
SpongeBob SquarePants, The Broadway Musical will begin Broadway previews November 6 at the Palace Theatre, with an official opening night set for December 4.
