Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce, who can currently be seen Off-Broadway in A Life and will be seen later this season on Broadway in the forthcoming revival of Hello, Dolly!, was the honoree of the Drama League’s 33rd Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway November 7 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue) in New York City.
The Drama League of New York, since 1916, has been at the forefront of the American Theatre community, providing talent, audiences, and prosperous support. It is one of the nation’s oldest continuously-operating, not-for-profit arts advocacy and education organizations. Through its programs, initiatives and events, The Drama League serves over 3,000 artists and 15,000 audience members each season with over 150 events and programs.
The Fred Ebb Award recognizes excellence in musical theatre songwriting, by a songwriter or songwriting team that has not yet achieved significant commercial success.
