Bucks County Playhouse has announced casting for Jon Robin Baitz’s politically-charged family drama Other Desert Cities, which will run August 18–September 2 under the direction of Sheryl Kaller. Opening night is August 19.
Four-time Emmy nominee Patricia Richardson (Home Improvement, Steel Magnolias at Bucks County) will star as Polly Wyeth opposite Kevin Kilner (House of Cards, The Glass Menagerie) as her husband, Lymon Wyeth. The cast will also include Deirdre Madigan (After the Night and the Music) as Silda, Liza J. Bennett (12 Years a Slave) as Brooke Wyeth, and Charles Socarides (When We Rise) as Trip Wyeth. Casting is by Caparelliotis Casting.
Baitz’s Tony-nominated play centers on a promising young novelist who returns home to Palm Springs for Christmas with news of a tell-all memoir that threatens to expose an explosive chapter in her family history.
The production team includes Clarke Dunham (scenic design), Michael Gilliam (lighting design), Nicole V. Moody (costume design), and Alex Neumann (sound design). Joanna Muhlfelder is production stage manager.
