Gimlet’s new podcast The Two Princes places a host of theatre alumni in a queer, contemporary fairy tale. The scripted series, penned by Kevin Christopher Snipes, stars Noah Galvin (Waitress, Dear Evan Hansen) and Tony Award winners Ari'el Stachel (The Band’s Visit) and Christine Baranski (The Good Fight).
All episodes will drop on Spotify and podcast services June 4.
Galvin stars as Prince Rupert, who embarks on a quest to defeat a mysterious evil that has plagued his kingdom for 18 years. Along the way, he encounters another prince—the handsome Amir (Stachel)—who’s on a similar mission himself. As they team up, feelings that arise only add to the uncertainty that surrounds them.
Baranski and Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo play the queens of the kingdom. The cast also includes Tony winner Laura Benanti, Tony nominees Daphne Rubin-Vega and Richard Kind, and Emmy winners Matthew Rhys and Samira Wiley, as well as Mandi Masden, Omar Metwally, Alfredo Narciso, Sean Pertwee, and CJ Wilson.Gimlet Executive Producer for Scripted Fiction Mimi O’Donnell directs.
