India Dreaming is a "cross-cultural love story focusing on an Indian man and a Spanish-American woman," according to a release, and how they "struggle to overcome their differences and maintain their relationship." The play was first performed as a benefit for the South Asia Against AIDS Foundation, Inc. Dubey leads a cast of New York actors including Jennifer Woodward (The Countess), Paula Pizi (Wit) and Robert Ian Mackenzie ("A Fish Called Wanda"). Leigh Fondakowski directs.
Director Fondakowski is credited as a writer of The Laramie Project (both stage and screen versions). Her new play, Stories from Jonestown and the People's Temple will debut at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in California.
