Dear Evan Hansen's Mike Faist will reunite with the musical's Tony-winning librettist and playwright, Steven Levenson, at Second Stage in October for the world premiere of Levenson’s new play, Days of Rage.
Tavi Gevinson (This Is Our Youth), J. Alphonse Nicholson (Paradise Blue), and Odessa Young (Assassination Nation) will also star in the Off-Broadway production, directed by Trip Cullman. One additional role remains to be cast and will be announced shortly.
Performances will begin October 9 ahead of an October 30 opening night in the Tony Kiser theatre.
Set in October 1969 against the backdrop of war and a polarizing President, Days of Rage sees the revolutionary planning of three 20-something radicals in upstate New York disrupted by the arrival of two strangers. The new work is described by 2ST as a "play about means and ends, ideals and extremes, and the perils of changing the world."
The production will feature scenic design by Louisa Thompson, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, sound design by Darron L. West, and casting by Telsey + Company.
Tickets are available at 2ST.com or by calling the Second Stage Box Office at (212) 246-4422.
