Playbill Travel’s second river cruise concluded its journey down Europe’s Rhine River on August 20 after kicking off August 13 in Basel, Switzerland. Look back at the highlights from the trip as our five stars and boatload of passengers sailed down the Rhine through seven different cities in Germany to end in the Netherlands.
Passing through the stunning hillsides, quaint wine villages, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and dazzling views, Broadway on the Rhine River sailed leisurely to the final stop in Amsterdam. Signature to the Playbill cruises, award-winning talent serenaded passengers in the evening with specially-curated solo performances. First up was Tony winner Faith Prince, then three-time Tony nominee Terrence Mann took the stage. Mann’s wife and two-time Tony-nominated talent wowed the crowd next, and Tony nominee Santino Fontana and Drama Desk winner Andréa Burns topped off the week.
