Tony Award winners Lindsay Mendez and Ruthie Ann Miles have been cast in the upcoming CBS pilot Courthouse, according to Deadline. They join the previously announced Simone Missick, Marg Helgenberger, Jessica Camacho, Wilson Bethel, and J. Alex Brinson.
The pilot, penned by Greg Spottiswood and directed by Mike Robin, follows the lives of various workers in the legal field, including judges, assistant district attorneys, public defenders, clerks, and bailiffs.
Mendez, who earned a Tony Award last year for her performance as Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel, will play gossipy court reporter Sara, who hosts courthouse poker games. Miles, a Tony winner for The King and I and currently Olivier-nominated for reprising her performance as Lady Thiang, is set to play Sherri, a highly organized and pragmatic judicial assistant.
Spottiswood serves as an executive producer alongside Robin and Len Goldstein.
