Lee Sunday Evans is set to replace Tom Ridgely as Artistic Director for Waterwell. A veteran director and choreographer who has worked at institutions such as The Public Theater, Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons and BAM, Evans has also worked with Waterwell for many years. Evans won an Obie Award in 2015 for directing Kate Benson's A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of the Great Lakes.
Said Evans in a statement, “I am thrilled to join Waterwell and build on their legacy of creating fervently contemporary, wildly engaging works of theater that have arresting civic questions at their core."
Waterwell is a not for profit focused on civic duty and inspiring change through theater, education, and film.
