For the first time, the event — which has played London's Old Vic since 2005 — comes to New York at Atlantic Theatre Company's Linda Gross Theatre for an 8 PM curtain. Tickets have already sold out for the event. A company of 40 of young New York theatrical stars, writers, directors (ages 18-25) will create six original plays, as per The 24 Hour Plays format, in one day.

To help the teams prepare for the day-long challenge, they underwent a series of workshops and panel discussions with Old Vic artistic director Kevin Spacey as well as actors Hugh Dancy, Claire Danes, Rachel Dratch, Jonathan Groff, Robert LuPone and Aasif Mandvi and playwrights Warren Leight and Adam Bock.

The actors slated to perform include Zoe Anastassiou, Satya Bhabha, Stefanie Estes, Julia Grob, Matthew Hadley, Lauren Hines, Melissa Joyner, Jamie Klassel, Rory Lipede, Bobby Moreno, Devin Norik, Zoe Perry, Mary Quick, Sarah Ries, Krysten Ritter, Zack Robidas, Will Rogers, Roarke Satava, Brandon Scott, Chris Smith, Nick Spangler, Federico Trigo and Kit Williamson.

Bekah Brunstetter, Laura Jacqmin, Josh Koenigsberg, Mike Lew, Olivia Mandelbaum and Harrison Rivers are the writers. Sherri Barber, James Dacre, Alli Maxwell, Colette Robert, David Ruttura and Laura Savia serve as the directors. Kelcie Beene, Jaime Green, Rachel Helson and Carly Hugo are producers.
