The exact cause of death was not announced, pending the findings of a final autopsy. Ms. Waymire’s triumph in Sylvia, A.R. Gurney’s affectionate comedy about a man and his dog (which is played by an actress), came in 1996. She also performed the part in San Francisco. Other theatre credits include a revival of Noel Coward's Present Laughter at the Pasadena Playhouse in 1998 and the romantic comedy On The Jump at Costa Mesa's South Coast Repertory in 1999.
