On January 27, BroadwayCon will host “20 Years on Pride Rock,” an historic conversation with Tony Award-winning Lion King director Julie Taymor and Whoopi Goldberg, who originated the role of Shenzi in the 1994 animated film.
The Lion King opened on Broadway November 13, 1997. It’s the third-longest running show in Broadway history, has 24 global productions, and has garnered 70 awards internationally including the Tony Award for Best Musical.
Co-presented by Playbill, Mischief Management, and Anthony Rapp, BroadwayCon runs January 27-29 at the Javits Center in New York.
